Aluminum body trailer? Does it want to be a Defender when it grows up?

There’s a good chance the metal came from an old Defender with a rusted out frame. I’m pretty sure that’s where around half of all the aluminium in Britain starts out in life.

I’d wield the wheeled on the Weald.

Northumbria had a couple of these too. Much more interesting than a Transit Tipper.

Our own 4muddywheels actually does landscaping in Northumberland and has a Defender. Landscaping Defenders are very much a thing.

They are a good choice for the job.

It’s an Ifor Williams, so is most definitely a box section galvanised steel frame with pre-cut galvanised steel sheet riveted on for the sides, normally with alu chequer or epoxied marine ply floor. Strong as hell and built to last, pretty much the best trailer manufacturer in the UK. You can tell because they get nicked a lot.
